Vic: Truck tyre explodes in driver's face
A truck driver has been seriously injured by a tyre that exploded while he was checkingit in north-west Victoria.
Rural Ambulance Victoria says the 50-year-old is believed to have pulled over at LakeCharm after a passing motorist indicated there was something wrong with his truck about7am (AEDT).
Am ambulance spokeswoman says it appears that when the truck driver bent down to checkthe tyres, one tyre exploded, causing severe lacerations and burns across his face.
Fragments of rubber were lodged in his eye.
The man was taken to Bendigo hospital for treatment.
