NSW: Two injured in boat crash

SYDNEY, Dec 23 AAP - Two people are in hospital today after a late night boating accident
in Sydney's west.

A man and a woman, both from rural New South Wales, were injured when their runabout
collided with a yacht moored at Majors Bay, shortly before 11.45pm (AEDT), a police spokeswoman
said.

The man suffered facial and internal injuries and was undergoing surgery at the Royal
North Shore Hospital.

His companion suffered chest injuries and was also being treated at Royal North Shore.

Officers from the Marine Area Command were investigating the incident, the spokeswoman said.
