Vic: Pyne covering up gastro outbreak fiasco - union

Union officials have accused federal Ageing Minister CHRISTOPHER PYNE of a cover-up
.. demanding he release all information about the fatal gastro outbreak at a Melbourne
nursing home.

The Health Services Union Victorian branch says Mr PYNE owes it to the families of
the five people who're died .. and the wider community .. to reveal everything he knows
about the crisis.

The union says he's sitting on much more information over the gastro outbreak.

The HSU's SHAUN HUDSON says ultimately the buck stops with Mr PYNE who can intervene
immediately .. but so far he's been sitting back and letting Victorian health minister
BRONWYN PIKE take the flak.







Mr HUDSON'S comments follow reports of a cover-up .. with a whistleblower alleging
staff were threatened with the sack if they didn't sign backdated infection control cleaning
procedure forms handed out just this week.

Mr HUDSON says reports that Broughton Hall bosses sought legal advice before revealing
details of the deaths are completely outrageous and unacceptable.
