Fed: States could get more infrastructure support under Rudd

Labor leader KEVIN RUDD says states should not have to bear all the burden of providing
infrastructure for national projects .. like Western Australia's proposed 15 billion dollar
Gorgon gas project.

Mr RUDD's made his statement after discussing the Gorgon project and Western Australia's
infrastructure needs with WA Premier ALAN CARPENTER yesterday.

The opposition leader was in Perth as part of his so-called listening tour of the nation.

The massive Gorgon gas project off WA's northern coast moved a step closer to production
this week .. after the state government cleared the path for environmental approval.
