BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 1999--Books-A-Million, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM:BAMM) announces that on Tuesday, January 19, "Smokey," The Tennessee Volunteer's mascot, will be at their Knoxville store from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Knoxville store is located at 8613 Kingston Pike.
Books-A-Million will be exclusively offering customers the opportunity to special order a limited edition "Smokey the Dog" bean bag toy. As mascot of the Tennessee Volunteers, Smokey can be seen cheering the Vols on to victory at sporting event as well as supporting the University at other campus activities. "We are thrilled to host Smokey at the Knoxville location of Books-A-Million where customers will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the mascot," said Chris Korotky, Vice President of Marketing. "Smokey plays a tremendous role in Tennessee athletics and we are pleased to exclusively offer the commemorative bean bag toy celebrating the 1998 NCAA National Championship."
In addition, Books-A-Million stores in Knoxville and the Tennessee area as well as northern Alabama and Kentucky also have the official Fiesta Bowl game day program, the Sports Illustrated Commemorative Edition, a variety of additional merchandise and collectibles.
