As a result of organisational restructuring, Joachim Schafer, who was Managing Director at Messe Dusseldorf since June 2006, has taken charge of the company's medical fairs. Among other things, Schafer is now strategically responsible for the Medica, Rehacare International and Compamed events.
In addition to being responsible for other trade fair projects such as Wire (cable), Tube (pipes) and A+A (safety, security and health at work), he retains under his command advertising, press activities, Internet services, information technology and in-house services. "Our medical and health fairs are the centrepiece of the event programme," he says. "Because of the demographic trends and industry's innovation, it is necessary to further extend their success in a dynamic market environment."
